Raise the Roof Halloween Party
Community members have organized a “Save the State Barn” initiative and are working to restore the Dairy Barn built in 1929 by the WV Schools for the Deaf and the Blind. The schools were provided with most of the food they needed from the farm as well as teaching animal husbandry, gardening and advanced agricultural techniques to the students. We are encouraged that through our efforts, the barn has been added to the National Register of Historic Places this year but the huge holes in the roof make this renovation an immediate priority. Possible uses are: community center, arts and education center, theater, meetings, concerts, art, business incubator and community events, a museum, community park and garden. The Facebook Page for the project is: https://www.facebook.com/Save-the-State-Barn-106070885185280. Visit, like us, and share on Facebook please.
You are cordially invited to our Halloween Party on Friday, October 28th from 6 until 9:30pm at the Bottling Works in Romney. We are asking supporters to help with appetizers and desserts for the event and we are searching for some really spectacular auction items like vacation packages or WV Schools for the Deaf and the Blind memorabilia. We are a 501C so all donations are tax deductible.
On behalf of the Save the Barn Committee, we want you to know how much your support means to this great project.
